I've written everything from newspaper and magazine articles to press releases, web content and grant proposals to columns and newsletters. I have been an editorial columnist for my local newspaper and have done freelance work there as well. I happily write about virtually any subject (a lot of the fun of writing is the research it takes to learn something new), but I have cultivated a few specialties over time.

I cut my teeth in the world of agriculture by writing for The Farm Forum, the leading agricultural publication in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota. Soon, I found myself carving a niche in this field, writing pieces for publications such as The Progressive Farmer, Massey Ferguson Today, AGCO Advantage, Farm Journal, Farm Industry News and Feedlot Magazine.

Parenting, pregnancy, health, essays and family issues are my other specialties. I've been published in The Christian Science Monitor and I've written for Parenting, TWINS Magazine and Motherhood. I have a couple children's books for the 3-6 set in the works and I give advice and talk about the flexibility needed in parenting at Parenting By Trial and Error. I've written a number of essays for the secondary school English portion of the ACT test, and I have two essays in the anthology Fits, Starts & Matters of the Heart.

I consider editing and proofreading to be a part of my daily life, beyond even what I do with my own writing. I'm one of those annoying people who sees errors in print everywhere. I've been proofreading for LOGIA: A Journal of Lutheran Theology for most of the past 17 years, and I also proofread for my local newspaper, The Aberdeen American News. I'm familiar with a variety of styles as well.

Business content development and marketing is another of my specialties. As a freelancer with my own business, I have years of experience with marketing and promotion, as well as web and blog design and management. My rates depend on the project. Feel free to contact me to discuss your business needs. I'm easy to work with, fulfill deadlines on time, and take special care to exceed all your expectations and needs.
